Warm Hues for Winters

#DailyFlowers

The Wordsmith, aka, the blogger is slowing down; me thinks the ennui emerging from this long lock-down is the culprit. But, a charge I placed on myself was to write lines, whether limericks, poetry, rhymes or forced  rimes. Many a times the muse strikes at once and words come tumbling out, fingers rush to keyboard, at others a line or two comes to mind, but the rest is left behind...

 Seasonal changes new colors impart
Leaves with greens dark, light, pink-tinged parts
Perfectly placed in almost an arc
Cradling dewdrops they to blessed mornings hark

As cooler climes come in, so do deeper hues
As if the flora is chasing away winter blues
'Tis also the season for roses, glorious roses
Their fragrance and myriad shades are cheers in massive doses

The deeper reddish pinks and oranges have arrived
Whither from have they these depths derived
Know I not, but this I know
Gardens around the country are putting on a fab show

Another hue Shalini did in bring: Real flowers known as paper flowers (Helichrysum) photographed last year at the India International Centre.

Human mimicry of nature has been so profound
When faced with the real thing doubts us surround
Gorgeous crimson, layered with delicate peach
Intricate blending that harmonizes to us balance  teach

Today, she remained in the same hue: Hubby to the rescue for me today with this bouquet...

Hubby to the rescue
Flowers to bless me and you
A bouquet for his wifey dear
In full generosity is shared here

Obviously, the work of a better photographer than me. Taken from a friend’s timeline. Good morning

Taken to trawling again Vivek has for flowers
That attests to their inordinate powers
A luminous creation has been captured
We shall for long be enraptured

Today, he produced two roses divine, one is used, the other held back for some more time: It’s been quite a few months since these daily posts have started. Today’s flowers are for the wordsmith as well as all of us who are contributing to keep this going. Good morning. From a friend’s terrace garden

Two velvets side by side
From two sources, but their colors do collide
One with its petals not totally unfurled
The other on which dewdrops are lazily curled

Shashi has taken to sharing memories, from the US National Botanical Gardens 2016

Love the blended shades
A composition of multiple grades
Braided stems with wavy fronds
This beauty with its environs well bonds

And today he came back to India: The colors in the streets of India are often overlooked. 2014 photo taken in Hyderabad

India the land of colors is also the land of flowers
Abundant, many-hued, fragranced, power-showers
In baskets, carts, dangling from arms, carried on heads
Blossoms & blooms in cities and towns their gorgeousness spread

Shinjini came in with:

Echoes of summers past
Dappled sunlight filtering through the delicate petals
Memories of vibrancy
As winter settles into the bones.

Another poetess in the house
With words deep enough to rouse
Even the sleepiest, slowest muse
Receives enough encouragement that lights up the fuse.
But if winter has come, can spring be far behind
Hold fast to the memories of spring and summer in your mind

Against a backdrop green and grey
A scarlet display holds sway
The vividness hints at warmer climes
A playful splash that befuddles rhymes

Myriad Hues send a Greeting

 #DailyFlowers

Even as seasons change, days grow shorter, nights longer and there is nip in the air; warm clothes come out, flowers continue to spread their vividness around. As is my wont, I have been trawling twitter, FB for pix, have gained some beauties, sharing them here.

 See the photographer's skills applied
On two
whites side by side
Nature's grand forms
For the camera do perform

Vivek suddenly remembered flowers he hasn't taken pix of; and then he shared some gyan: The “आपटा” tree in full bloom in our neighbor’s yard. On Dussehra, we Maharashtrians visit each other and exchange the leaves of this tree. It is synonymous with gold on that day.

Beautiful pinks and purples vibrant
Are they innate or migrant
Doesn't really matter
They add to the flowers' chatter

Shashi went I think to Peru in one and to Baltimore's Inner Harbor (2009 visit) in another

It is strange but travels focus on food, people-functions, monuments and flowers
Those memories have massive restorative and regenerative powers
So, it is today, that we images from our albums cull
Into soothing, peaceful times do they us lull

From @Ranjona's profile page, lifted without permission
Hoping i will be forgiven the borrow with this admission
All shades of fuchsia, magenta's and pinks I adore
When I see them, i want to them add to my store

From Preeti's posts come two of nature's weaves
Have you ever seen such intense flowers and leaves
Eyes fixate on them and take in the sights
These gems minds, souls, hearts delight

The foreground purples seemed to have jumped onto mustard petals
While on the other side a deep maroon onto the bloom settles
Well bounded within the greens
These are marvels infrequently seen

From Shalini: “Love and a red rose (dahlia) can’t be hid.” - Thomas Holcroft

Shalini forgot to post her share  today
But presented a poet's image yesterday
Love and red go hand in hand
Together they the test of time withstand

Another single, this time from my cousin's memory banks
This somewhere among the top shares ranks
Glorious blooms do the tree cover
Another nature's wonder for us to discover

Oops, I nearly forgot, good friend's Nimmy's wandering
Some deep orange blossoms responded to her conjuring
In a swathe of lovely green enveloped
Wonder how many of her winning thoughts were developed

Stunners on Show

 #DailyFlowers

Most days the moment my fingers touch the keyboard, words start to flow, today is a little different. I am lost for words... wondering how to begin. What brought this on, well a couple of incidents of rubbernecking that were shared across various media and the comments that followed and I wondered what people gained by sharing that. I got a mind in turmoil, and for some strange reason am absolutely exhausted, but the lovelies I came across today have played their part in cheering me up...

They are vivid and deep
The strength of their colors does seep
Deep into tired minds
Of grace, peace and and nature's beauty they remind

There is a series of posts going round of FB, where members are sharing flowers to boost moods and provide some color
I have been visiting these posts
Have fallen in love with pix shared by the hosts
Since flowers all of us do cheer
Thought I would borrow some and bring them near

From a friend on Mastodon
Humans sometimes meddle with natural creations
Tweaking here and there some of Nature's operations
Sometimes they fail, sometimes they pass
Sometimes result expectations surpass

Sometimes it is good to shake things, even posting orders

But Sai came forth with a Bougainvillea divine
An absolute beauty it does two distinctive colors combine
One mimics the pink of its pot,
The other calls to mind sunrise's tangerine shot

Shashi is continuing his Peru travels
One by one, vividness he unravels
Marvel we at treasures he doth share
Wonder how many beauties does his camera bear

Shalini went to Coorg to bring us this gem
So many crimson blooms seemingly on a single stem
Bunched closely they resemble a ball
But do not underestimate them cause they are small

These are purple-white bells
I wonder do they cast any spells
Our eyes take in this vivid sight
Our minds and hearts this one delights

Unseen Hues sing their Songs

 #DailyFlowers

This blog began with only 1 pix contributor, from thereon it landed on #twitter and picked up some more people; thence it moved onto FB and WA and more pix came in.  Over the last three days, some more people have given permission to use their pix, so the posts are becoming richer. Thank you. Of course there are 2 or 3 people I have the audacity to tell that I am taking their pix to use, close friends who I don't ask for permission.

Four gems are added into today. Let's go.

Audacious enough to use without permission being sought
Methinks @nimmypal did into this framing put some serious thought
A blooming tree topped by a watchful bird
That lighter arch should have, but doesn't look absurd

Was trawling #FB posts and came across these, asked for permission, yes I did and got (from Preeti Singh)

Burgundy with an central orange cone
Would it not make the fairy queen a mighty throne
Two gentle layers soft as silk
How many have you met of its ilk?

I went a-hunting on my #twitter timeline
And came across this beauty gracing the skyline
Buds and a full bloom side by side
Such hues came along for the ride

A nacked lilly, its leaves disappear when it blooms
A deep red its petals are more like plumes
Many a mystery does nature design
Its palette and symmetry carefully assign

My usual contributors are present too, Shashi took us back to Peru for some more

It is the central orange dot
That focuses the shot
The eyes toward it gravitate
Its layers makes us move forward not hesitate!

As Shalini stepped into memories again

Against cobblestones gray
Innocent white-cream flowers form a spray
A solid blooming bank
They have formed their rank

My cousin's beauties have waited long to get their own individual songs

We are a month-plus out from 2020s end
'Tis a year we will with great relief away send
But, we it owe thanks for slowing us down
Full many nature's splendors did our days crown

Vanilla and Strawberry ice cream!

Vivek and food are never far apart
Who else would see goodies in nature's art
But spot on is his description
As a meal chaser it  is a very good prescription

Sai takes shots that bring forth aaws!

A bloom as yet not totally unfurled
Cool, calm and collected as it looks out on the world
Swirls of pink topped with red
Its tales as yet are unsaid
