Songs of Praise

  #DailyFlowers

Well work finally eased off, but the blog was still delayed as the blogger had to herself play nursemaid. A dumbbell fell in love with my foot, my lil toes almost went kaput. But mercy did shine, wasn't a break to see in the x-ray, and all was fine! Of course, the owies and ouches did for sometime reign, until meds kicked in and smashed the pain.

The blogger was all set to write lines
To raise praise that would fit in so fine
Alas, the work Gods began to frown
And work came tumbling down
It went on for so long
That into sunset vanished the songs
So, here I am ready to try
Hoping rhymes won't have run dry
Here's to creating songs of praise
To cheers that flowers do always raise
There was a one-upping game going on
The Alamanda was by a fire poker set upon
Vivek and Shashi added to the frame
And that set off the whole game

Come summer and the Amaltas is in full flow
In and around Delhi roads it puts on its show
But Amaltas isn't the only queen
Multiple yellows do happily preen
Lavender, violet, whites and blues do in join
Inter-playing narratives they joyfully coin

Reds and oranges always days brighten
Our troubles and worries always lighten
Their brilliance always rules the day
Chases cares, tensions all away
Of course, there's the siren call of Gimme Red!
Sometimes, contributors it has into mischief led
Along with reds the merry pinks do abound
Offer hues at once sublime & profound
Into the medley Tulips were brought
Their delicate beauty is always sought

Lilies, hibiscus & roses
Gems that nature periodically discloses
In gay abandon do they bloom
Offering variegated plume
From near and far do they come
Singing songs, marching to their own drum

The lamppost this time is hobnobbing with flowers
Each on the other beauty gleefully showers
A butterfly has anointed a flower its throne
While alongside white bunches avoid being blown
Common and exotic widen the choice
As we humans in their grandeur rejoice

Another merry bunch in does prance
Its combinations enthrall and romance
Blooms as far as the eye can see
Joyous color waving with glee
Such happiness do they spread
Enliven each day and morn ahead

Reigning Hues

 #DailyFlowers

The hands of the clock move, bringing in day, moving in night and life flows along. Time moves, never stands still and yet sometimes for a mini second it does! Sometimes an absent smile breaks through, at others the eyes still go damp. Fortunately, less and less does the blog post feel like a test, although incomplete is the writing zest. Flowers and their pics offer massive solace, a healing to the heart that moves at its own pace. The mind is at once still & messy. As I type these words I can hear the pressure of the jet spray as it cleans my building which is undergoing repair & renovation work. It makes me realize that humans do also undergo the same, repaired, renovated to shine once again!

Pinks in all hues & shades do reign
Across flowers they shine again & again
A color known to be gentle & kind
It's also strong, beguiles & calms the mind
Many words of praise for it can be written
Easy to understand why we are with it smitten
Cast your gaze upon these frames
As the pink varietal our thirst tames

Nature is truly lavendered & pinked
It's as if these two are closely linked
If the Pinks in multiples abound
Violet-lavender-blues can also be found
From across places do these beauties come
Sing, dance, have fun and then one become
With others in this blog post
Cheering us on when we need them most

This post doesn't just feature these two
It also showcases other hues
It is still spring and yellows rule
They are leaders of the season's school
Bursting forth days of sunlight bright
As winter lets go of its might
As the cycle begins anew
And nature shows its majesty true

Whites, creams, and the reddish crew
With the earlier ones come into view
Dazzling creations they truly are
Coming to us from near and far
Each makes us pause, tarry a while
Each is truly versatile
Connections, memories do they bring forth
Each and everyone of the fullest worth

Spring is in the Air

#DailyFlowers

'Tis time for a new post
As blogger.com plays the merry host
Full many a beauty has been shared
Let's see how they have fared
In February the blogger went on a trip
The nasty cold season she did skip
Hit Delhi in early spring
From there many flowers she did bring

Flowers and blooms many
In varieties and colors zany
Far as the eyes could see
Spring had set the city on a blooming spree
Tulips did have center stage
With their stories one could fill many a page

Spring doth rejoice in its yellows
Truly they are merry fellows
In Delhi carpets of them were seen
Brightening each and every scene

The thirst for blooms did awaken
Thence to the Rose garden I was taken
Glories and stories were there found
Pinks, peaches, orange-lemon hues did abound

To Switzerland did my cousin go
Sent these beauties to show & glow
Spring is in the air everywhere
With shining hues truly fair

Further tales are yet to be knit
More images designed to fit
Frames that tell their sweet tales
Ringing across cities, valleys & dales
But the blogger is hard-pressed for time
Still free doesn't flow the rhyme sublime
The many shared images do add cheer
Here, there and everywhere
The blogger does request some more time
To let the lines spontaneously chime

Summer's Grace

 #DailyFlowers

It's been absolutely insane fortnight! Snowed under so much work that the brain was dead by the time the day got over. Even thinking of coining rhymes added to stress. Hence the beautiful shares were left unaddressed. Today, is a lighter day, work-wise, though I have been running around since the morning. But let's see if lines will flow, if meter will find its place, if words will weave magic. We had some leftovers last time... .Let's start with them

FOMO, she said she had
Guess, it must have been pretty bad
Loads of flowers she did share
'Twas more than 2-weeks fare
The blogger was pressed for time
Try as she might there were no rhymes
Held these back for another day
Hoping some magic would come this way

Roses at first all seemed to be
Some leaves didn't seem to agree
Lovely colors, blooms they are, that's for sure
Their very presence reassures

Tulips from Ria,
Brought forth tulips from Arti
A colorful flowery idea
In full gay abandon did they party
Such beautiful blossoms did brighten the space
Our summer days they did grace!

Hues of Pinks and shades of red
Make for merrily blossoming spreads
The colors it seems are meant to entice
Wonder how nature makes them so precise?

And then the blues, lavenders, purples made their entry
With the reds-pinks, they seem so complementary
Blooms proud, then timid and shy
Their sight offers a fitting reply

Flowers in all hues, shapes and sizes
So much grandeur makes for awesome surprises
Whites of all shades do blend
While yellows a cheery halo lend
Gentle mauve contrasts a sky so blue
While the Amaltas builds a nice view
Remembrances with flowers for furry friends are made
So, that they may forever frolic in the shade
Collages, powder puffs join the game
Nature's beauty they loudly proclaim

Whitey the Mighty

#DailyFlowers

So, things have been moving at a snail's pace, but not the summer heat! That's blazing through. Each year, summer gets hotter and hotter and now we are told a major heatwave can be expected in May across Pakistan and Indian plains. I happened to step out on Sunday for some work, came back absolutely wrung out. Yea, there's the mercy of the air conditioner at night (for sometime at least, all night AC causes me issues with my game knee)... but life goes on. Oh, yes, kinda regretted not having my phone in my hand, when I spotted a black kitten curled up under a shady fern. And from thereon to the Mighty Whitey

So, we have a tale of Whitey the mighty
Breaker of vases and flower pots
But  by the family still loved lots
And friends who pipe in to say
That family's love, by the way
Is why he is so hoity-toity
Now the rhyme's been made
Between them Shalini & Vivek laid
Tales of Whitey with blooms
Both verily disrupt the gloom
Also, wine tasting  did Vivek & his wife go
So, a lily and frangipani joined the show

 There came tulips galore
Amsterdam and New Jersey upped the score
In hues multiple, row upon row
Alternates of red & white formed a unique flow

A vibrant splash across the green
Fuchsia reigned like a queen
Tibouchina added its purple glory
A lavender unknown and sadabahar built up the story

A blazing red blazed its way
Tall palms did gently sway
Yellows added to the charm
While the Rangoon creeper did gently disarm

Bottlebrush, anemone, New Zealand sunsets did jive
Delicate pinks and dainty yellows did arrive
Together, melodies they did share
Lit up the day/week with stupendous fare

A creeper made its way up the pole
White hyacinths did Shantha's walk control
Flowers did greet Shashi in hotels
Lavender pinks chimed in with their yodels

Delicate bunches ruled the roost
Light blues, red-creams did the frame boost
Gems as usual did Udayji bring
Lovely hues did to the front spring

On the seashore, a beautiful sunset
Along with waves some gossamer skeins were met
Nature's beauty has me astounded
In troubling times, keeps me grounded

Along came a profusion of red & pinks
Flowers  creep through all chinks
Connections that do delight
Emotions they do set alight
