#DailyFlowers
Monday began sanely enough but around 10am, Power did a massive bunk and whooshed out leaving denizens stranded. Poems and rhymes out of the window flew...
Monday began nice and breezy
Till the power decided to get wheezy
Away it ran for most of the day,
Leaving us poor denizens stranded midway
So, tomorrow will be a double post,
Hopefully, all rhymes and poems will be at their spontaneous most...
Shashi, I think it was that started it all: this is a picture of Amorphophallus titanum. It's called the Corpse Flower and only blooms once in 12 years. This photo was taken when visited hoping it will bloom during our visit. We were lucky, it didn't bloom since the flowers' scent is of rotten flesh...
Nature in her majesty creates mystery
Some have a strange history
All her flowers are not fragrant
Some appeal to the forests' vagrants
From Sai
Sai came in with a beauty true
Purple, pink and white made its hue
Delicate petals poised but shy
Ready to fly up away into the sky
Shalini: Purple hearts from my sister, Rina. Must say I'm lucky in my co-contributors for #DailyFlowers :) #MondayMotivaton
Mistah power heard of #MondayMotivation
Took it upon himself to that redress
Added massively to our distress
But this little flower with its awesome 3 petal-courage
Did massively the contributors' encourage
That they shared beauties from far and wide
Bringing forth Mother Nature's joy and pride
From Shinjini, delicate trails
Flower or fairies you decide
Why can't they be both the plant replied
Gossamer threads into petals woven
Created magically by a hidden coven
Vivek added his own narrative to his pix: It’s as if the two roses and the Fallopia Alberti are part of a bride’s attire. Good morning #DailyFlowers. Photo by Jola who enthusiastically shares her flowers. I asked her to join the fun but she is not on Twitter and doesn’t want to be.
Bridal Attire and Wedding Arches
It's a wonder to see how his thought process marches
But, the two flowers do beautifully meld
As much as the vows, visions, dreams they have held
Mala brought in: I love how the flowers frame the building in the 1st pic, this was Kolkata. The 2nd pic ..my pic doesn’t do justice to how beautiful it looked
Flowers decorating buildings to buildings framed by flowering trees
Mala has pulled some real gems, of blooms both framed and free
The sight of flowers on both instances adds to the charm
Flowers domesticated or free they always us disarm
We took Ma down yesterday as she was distressed without power; the lobby was a mite better
Monday had a stroke
Power had an outage and for hours stayed broke
Downstairs to take advantage of the slight breeze
I looked up to see autumn colors on this tree
Tuesday was easier, after Monday's antics
Although, autumn seems unwilling to march in, my cousin's garden has begun its transition.
Tuesday dawned bright and early
The colors of autumn are here
Their vividness Rachna has shared
Where else would you see a palette so wide
Mother Nature showcases her pride
The rest of Tuesday was mostly purple, some pinks, lavenders whites did raise their heads, but the collections just ranged ahead. Begun by Shashi, picked up by others:
Purple Hearts for your Tuesday #DailyFlowers Have a great day!
From my bank of photos from the US Botanical Gardens in Washington DC
Purple Hearts whether medal or flower
A tale of beauty, courage and true valor
Blooming brightly in bunches and singles
Seeing them the heart gets so full and the spine tingles
Sai brought in a gem
The leaves are medicinal, flowers bell-like shimmery white
The whole plant is nature's gift and a visual delight
Full many a gem like this we do not know
For their tales are hidden and skills do not openly show
My co-contributors are again running the show, what this says for me I do not know: Inspired by @shashib here are some flowers from #PennState from a trip three years ago. #DailyFlowers has a purple heart today :)
Pink, and Purple are the reigning colors
Sometimes single, sometimes layered, intertwined like lovers
Their beauty does us amaze
While they bless everyone with their grace
In the meanwhile trawling the TL, saw I a beautiful one and promptly requested and was permitted to use
From @Zenrainman
A flower deeply purple-pink
Has from the rain taken a long drink
Its petals are burnished with droplets bold
The leaves below also them try to hold
Amazing the gentleness of the rain
Pitter-patters as it comes again
Vivek also pulled pix from his photo bank: These too are from the Botanical Gardens in DC. Good Morning
Whites and greens amid purple sprays
Each flower its role perfectly plays
Come together to create an amazing display
Unity in diversity is what they powerfully display
My Co-Contributors
Shashi, Sai, Shalini, Shinjini, Vivek, Mala, Me (with my own pix, then taken from my cousin), and @Zenrainman
