#DailyFlowers
#HappyDiwali
As I sit to write this post, the clock moves towards 10PM (IST), another day and a momentous one is coming to a close. Across the country, Diwali celebrations are on, kinda muted compared to last year, but they are around. The firecracker ban allowed their bursting within residences and they sporadically light up the night; but it's the boom that is heard first.
Lest you think Diwali is all about noise and firecrackers, it is not so! It's about lights, diyas that cut through the dark of the night becoming a beacon and welcome to the Goddess of Wealth - Lakshmi, her sister Goddess of Knowledge - Saraswati, and Controller of Time & Death - Goddess Kali. It also heralds the presence of Ganesh -without his presence nothing is begun, and Kuber - the treasurer... it's about family, togetherness, joy, health, prosperity, abundance and its overflowing warmth is so much needed today.
So, whether you are celebrating or not, this blog, the blogger and its co-contributors say:
On the auspicious occasion of the festival of lights, a wish for all... may the lights and festivities cast their effervescence into your daily lives, light them up from within and without; grant to all peace, prosperity, health, abundance and joy. May the twinkling of the many lights and diyas cast out all that is dark and scary, inundating every nook and corner with goodness and many blessings! Happy Diwali!
Rangoli, whether made from color or flowers are a hallmark of the festival, today, the blog honors these
The First of these comes from Shashi
The grandeur of free form design from the masters is a delight to watch
Try as we might, this is a grade we cannot match
Flowers and rangoli go hand in hand
For festivals, celebrations they are quite a powerful band
Shalini pulled out from memories: Kai saal pehle ki ye baat hai...par #Diwali ki hi raat hai. Rangoli by @ria_narayanan , like every year! #DailyFlowers #HappyDiwali
Flowers and diyas merge, and interplay
Into one another to form this display
Diwali is just an excuse
To set free the creative muse
Vivek in commenting on Shalini went:
Wah kya baat!
Now trying to rhyme
peechli Diwali ki yeh raat
Rangoli Asmita-Arti ke haath
Tali bajane mein
Do mera saath
Whence upon the blogger had fun
Glories from last year
Have been brought near
We do applaud the design
But would like more the fresh sign
Thence came in Shinjini: Refreshing memories of last year’s Diwali for today’s #DailyFlowers. No rangoli this year because I’m not buying flowers thanks to corona. Happy Diwali, folks! Hold your loved ones close, have fun, and stay safe!!
The glory of the artist's eye
Colors so well blended the differences you can't spy
Flowers form the praise
Which the diya to another level does raise!
In all this time, the bloger's rangoli got done and it was duly posted:
Rango-bhari rangoli aap sabhi ko diwali ki hardik khushiyaan aur shubhakamanaen deti hai
A color filled Rangoli wishes all you the happiness and goodness of Diwali
This blogger had put a cut-off time of 5pm for the initial Rangolis to flow in, the diya ones could come later.
Vivek isn't wont to let any opportunity go by and came up with: Phew! Just made it to the rangoli deadline. #HappyDiwali. The diyas and all that will be later. Art by Asmita
Phew, he says! Just made it to the deadline
As if 'twas him creating the art divine
All thanks to Asmita go
For helping Vivek put on a fab show!
Vishnu shared a warm greeting
The festival of lights
Is so bright
It imbues our lives
And togetherness drives
As you can guess 5pm came and went and the rangolis all were in; all that was left was to light the diyas and place them on the Rangolis
Here, once more the blogger was first, mainly because her elderly mom demanded that since it was getting dark the lights be put on and the diyas be lit
GG came in with a garland that is typically hung over the door, adding blessings and grace
The marigold and auspicious leaves covering the door
Inviting prosperity, abundance in, some more
The evening has a beautiful glow
Lights, firecrackers, sweets, galore
Yeh dil mange more!
