Vivid Hues, Loud & True!

 Christmas has come and gone, but snow hasn't played along. Temps are plummeting and cold is holding sway! The winter solstice and the shortest day of the year are over. This is perhaps the last blog post of the year! The next one will be in the new year, in 2022!  We have lost this year and how, and yet we still strive, to achieve a perfection, nay a balance in life and what we want from it and what we can get! Yet Nature bloomed strong and true, filling our lives with many a hue!

Then came in Christmas with its bells
Crimsons, greens and whites joined to tell
The tale of holidays that were nigh
Another year ending on a muted high
But flowers lit up the year
Spread color, brightness and cheer
They kept us going strong
Varied hues with so many songs

Gnomes, and orchids from a distance did come
From Imphal the blue lotuses added their drum
A painted vase did center-stage take
An enviable sight it did make

Pinks in hues vivid did shine
Lilium, Sweet alyssum did in chime
Perfect Pinks did Shalini them call
Among all the displays they did stand tall

Some more pinks did in gambol
For pride of place they did scramble
A bunch happily took the lead
Others just followed the creed

Blooms from across the world
Onto the blog did swirl
Dance, prance into a multicolored display
Nature's magnificence is here to stay

Flowers white orange on the ground
Sprightly lavender on garlic vine found
Surprisingly the two did meld
The combination delicately be-spelled

Whites and light pink tinges add a charm
Their beauty does viewers disarm
Intense focus doth they invite
Gentle, tender blooms like fairy sprite

Pinks & Yellows do Merrily Sync

Another week has come to a close and the year end inches closer yet again. This time it seemed as if flowers had among themselves conspired to play the shade and hue game. And, #DailyFlowers finally got its own community on Twitter! Yay! The blogger is a day late in posting though; deadlines in the guise of training sessions and client submissions got in the way, but never mind, we are raring to go!

  Here's adenium come to bloom
Cutting through the morn's foggy gloom
It's cheerful pink is here to stay
Brighten every minute of the day
The adenium wasn't the only one
Bauhinia, lilium, poinsettia too joined the fun
Everywhere, we did peek
'Twas shaping up to a pink week
A hue that cares equally for all who seek
All opening gracefully to the morning sun
Beckoning to a good day's run! 

Of cabbage flowers n bright hues
Colors come in two-by-two
From holiday travels
And blessed balcony gardens

The week began with pinks
Moved onto yellows
Both colors do beautifully sync
And bring forth cheerful hellos
Smiling through the foggy morn
Of grace and beauty born

From flower collages
To backyard beauties
Shares in the community
And some really colorful montages

Orange jasmine, homegrown tomatoes
And the pigeon that did cheerfully pose
Splotches of white & light green
Against the red brick the bird did preen

Devil's claw & Ivy-leaf morning glory
The combination tells a strange story
Into this wandered a bloom-laden tree
Oh to be so high, colorful and free

Then came Lobster's claws and balcony roses
A dash of color and some greenery poses
Together they shine oh so brightly
Flowers and nature dance so sprightly

The Indian gooseberry did join the game
We call it Amla, that's its local name
Sour, tart, round and stout
A Vit-C powerhouse, but too much will make you pout

Still in Europe, Vivek's doing the touristy thing
Flower decked cycles, baskets & now paintings he doth bring
A tour of museums and masters he doth take
And shares the pix for our sake

Cheery Yellows & So Much More

 We are once again edging towards the end of another year! A tumultuous, torturous one at that. Too many losses, too many gone too soon, taken by circumstances. And yet, time moves on. We are nearly in mid-December and if one were to look back and assess/analyze what did we as humanity achieve? I will leave you all to think on that! But flowers achieved what they promised, a bright shaft of light cutting the gloom, bringing cheer to home-bound folks, filling the air with their fragrance sweet.  Last week folks put a yellow series just as the blog post was being published, so obviously that got held back, so we start with them.

Yellows from everywhere did come
On stalks, plants, lamps, urns and then some
Lest the beautiful goldens feel all alone
A vibrant purple with a central yellow merrily shone

The season changes again
We get chrysanthemums in the bargain
Colors common, n unseen
On a winter morn joyfully preen
With mums come rajnigandha and beauties pink
Vivid colors beautifully do sync

A tale of violets, purples lavender
In very graciously did wander
Vivek did need to touch the roses to see
Whether they met the natural guarantee
Delicate blossoms did the others in pull
Resulted in a frame most beautiful

Shashi's roses are still going strong
Other colors alone & tinted are coming along
Roses are a celebration of life
Their incandescence sets apart all strife

Shalini brought more flowers of stone
She said something about having to atone
Three more people did share their pix
Elevated the blogger's bag of tricks

While in Imphal Shalini went to the garden of General Slim
With his witty response Vivek went out on a limb
Comments on paucity of rations for the general were made
But then Vivek took to his legs, for he of Shalini was afraid
More Amsterdam beauties made their mark
While Deepak and Rina's takes added to the spark
Shashi chimed in with a loaded tree
In nature, beautiful growth is free

What of Udayji may I say
His blooms elevate the day
From tricks of light
And lovely kachnar so bright
From the common cotton
To the woody morning glory
Each frame tells a gorgeous story
The scarlet milkweed, aka blood flower
On the timeline, does radiance shower

Flowering beauties have no end
Resplendent colors to our lives they lend
Coming from near, coming from far
Each one is a reigning star

Gorgeous Blooms & Vivid Plumes

It's been an interesting week, most days were hyper-hyper, a couple were so slow the brain got bored. Methought it was time to create some nice posts, but then Shalini pipped me to goalpost with her lovely rhyme.   I was wrapping up the post when Shashi jumped in saying some pix were stuck in his drafts and he just realized. Okay, adding them in! But to start off, someone who got left behind last time! Sit back and relax, we have plenty of gorgeous blooms along with their vivid plumes!

 From a rare contributor does come
A bouquet of gorgeous hot pinks
Small, big, single, layered and then some
Each hue does of itself makes us deeply drink
To this Vivek adds Saffraan Crocus
Blooms that pull all our focus
Those colorful cylinders made my day
Wonder if they will come my way

Of course, then there was Shalini who visited lotus ponds:

Visiting the lotus pond,
This thought did dawn;
If #DailyFlowers wasn't there,
What would I do with flower pictures rare?
The group gets the beauty,
Admin takes as duty,
To collect the pictures divine,
And stitch them together with rhyme..
The blogger sought some off-time
But Vivek in turn declared that a crime
However, blue lotuses in their prime
From Imphal did in chime
Repartee for a time was laid to rest
As magnificent lotuses did their best

Another rare contributor says: There's been no grafting, and it's a single plant, growing from a single caudex

This Adenium  surprises Scharadaji  every year
Two colors on itself it does bear
Nature's largess takes a merry slant
Pink and white blooming on the same plant
Udayji his magic continues to bring
Pale yellows, muted oranges are the king
Rich blooms come to the fore
They keep us asking for more

Then there were lilies gorgeous
Playing a beautiful yellow chorus
Their carer they did with their blooms bless
She very kindly did allow me to feature this success

The Begonia weren't woebegone
A berry tree came jauntily along
In joined a bunch of flowers lively
A bunch of reds lit the whole up sprightly

Come winter, can Roses be far behind
With hues that only Nature can have designed
Day & night roses did also come to play
Udayji & Shalini added them to the display
A childhood friend did a lilac show
 Shashi brought rich crimsons into the flow
Bees on roses did also shine
A light red and pink fell in line

Whites rule and how
They lead the flowery show
Its flowers are a lovely white
But on the hand it paints an orange bright
Weddings and ceremonies it does grace
Mehndi flowers against the blue sky form a lovely brace

 

And, then there was Shalini's Red fairy (lal pari)
The space it graced was so merry
That Vivek did in have to join
Assistants for the fairy he did coin
Velvet reds did in sway
More blooms joined the play

Euphorbia was Vivek's chosen song
Chrysanthemums also came along
Country roses and the jal kumbhi in did prance
Huge bouquets too shared the dance

 Yellow and whites
Colors that eternally delight
Posed on trees, composed against a wall
These sparkling blooms stand stately & tall

Some of the blog regulars went a-missing
Taking a break they were perhaps reminiscing
They turned up today in full force
Blooms they brought in from many a source
Of course, Shashi made an entry late
Said he twitter drafts for his pix were the gate
Shalini did a flower wrongly call
Methinks Alamanda is now her be and all
