Marvellous Mauves & More

 #DailyFlowers

It is the season for the trees to burst in bloom, whether in India or across the world as Spring digs in its heels and starts to gallop on. On this blog, today the indigo, purple, lavender, blue-purples, pink-purples dominate.

From the richer air of the hills come amazing hues
Magenta, indigo, pink-purple, violet to mention a few
The twitter timeline seems to have burst into spring
A riot of colors does some much needed freshness bring

And then we have trees either in full bloom or ready to: Don't know the tree, there were just flowers. No leaves.. Good Morning to all. The Jacaranda. This one is from Chickmaglur where we took a tea stop. Good morning. I'm not sure which tree this is, but it looked hauntingly beautiful...Good morning. Good Morning. Hope you'll had a good night of sleep. Here's some morning freshness for everyone.

The Jacaranda and bauhinia are laden with flowers
The mauve, purple, lavender have special powers
But the season itself seems to celebrate these shades
Across many friends, these do form brigades
Not possible it is to write words for each anew
Therefore recourse is taken to do justice in lines few
Some uncommon flowers have also come to meet
With their strange beauty they do us greet
Scenes from India and US do collide
Each pic the other's colors wears with pride
Colors are coming out to play
Lighting up our days and ways

But it was not just the purple-lavender story
For other colors did also garner their glory
One specific shade across three flowers
This delicate peach-pink over the others towers
The hibiscus is firmly entrenched
Our thirst for its beauty yet to be quenched
That spiky ball Shashi did share
However, he couldn't quite identify the fare
Vivek brought a torch lily forth
Flowers in 2 stages, in the 3rd, its got ayurvedic worth

Morning from Kerala, with the flowering of Kanikkonna ( don't know the name in English). #DailyFlowers signs of spring

Yellows teamed with orange came out to play
The golden did itself in a shower display
Nothing more cheery than the sunburst across the sky
This picturesque view is sure to give everyone a high

Good morning from Kerala too but a different part. Brightening up your morning with this beauty from a friend’s terrace garden. A special bunch from a special someone. Good morning

And thence did enter the pink group
Oh, the colors that in did troop
In one pinks encircled oranges dear
In another purple-pinks sang loud and clear
Roses did Shalini in bring
With them another song ring
And then came flowers from one so dear
Vivek capped it off with torch lily and white roses sincere

We are hung to bloom soon. The flowers come first and then the leaves. Probably 15 days this week be a nice cherry blossom picture.
In Shashi's part of the world
Spring has finally in whirled
Cherry trees are laden with buds
Though leaves are yet the tree to flood
In a fortnight says he
A fully blossoming Cherry tree will we see

The traveler went to coffee land
There for a cuppa tea he made a stand
But then flowers he did share
From the plants that give us our daily cafe fair

And now for some sound. I was tweeting on Twitter when a real bird started tweeting on a tree. An amazing gift from nature. Do listen and enjoy. If anyone can identify the bird please let us all know

And last but not the least
Vivek manged to capture a whistling treat
Nature did send a gift
All of our spirits did it lift

Indigos into Purples, Travels to Spring!

 #DailyFlowers

Our intrepid traveler continues with his journeys and shares snapshots to keep us engaged. In the course of things were shared images of sunsets/sunrises and that inevitably brings forth more.

Sunset point in Madikeri, Coorg. This is not the actual sunset but it did look lovely behind the trees before the clouds had their way. Went to see the sun rise.

The sun sets in one region to rise in another
A day ends in one hemisphere to begin in the other
The crimson-peaches give way to yellows golden
Nights move to rest and mornings  are emboldened

And then there are flowers, but when aren't there flowers, after all this blog is all about their immense powers, right?
This 150 years old frangipani tree in the Vitthala temple courtyard must have seen millions of tourists in its lifetime. Wonder what it thinks about me. Good morning

Well, history steeped temples did Vivek meet
Wonder who did the other first greet
A 150-yr old tree with branches arching to the sky
Or Vivek who is on a traveler's high

Saw this house on the Munnar-Thekkady I had to take a picture. The owner was standing in front and gave permission. It is simple but the flowers make it beautiful
While capturing sunrises, Vivek did come upon this flower
To attract his attention away from yellow  oranges did take some power
Immortalized it did he with his lens
And then shared it for the pleasure of friends
And while driving around he did a home espy
From the owner permission to share he did pry
On its walls, boundaries, hedges flowers their glories lend
Against a sky so blue, it forms an awesome blend

Over two days Shalini trod a couple of ways
Blessed, bounded by flowers
These paths have some magical powers
Yellows and reds add cheers to spring days
Stress, worry, tension all do flee
When flowers bloom in fulsome glee

If Shalini goes meandering down garden paths can Vivek be far behind: Hum bhi kuchh kum nahi
Vivek brought forth his counter
With Pinks, yellows oranges offered a rejoinder
But flowers do not each other fight
They offer glimpses of beauty bright

Delhi in spring is a sight for sore eyes...these gorgeous white lilies in Nehru Park took my breath away.
Delhi is a joy in the spring
Multitude blooms do smiles forth bring
Circles, gardens, footpaths and more
Home to enchanting colors and flowers galore

The beauty of these indigo flowers was just not getting captured by my phone camera; so much so that even the actual deep indigo shade has got distorted to some kind of purple. But I'm glad. Some things need to remain in the mind's eye rather than caught on camera.

The camera she says does lie
Indigo changed to purple in the blink of an eye
The mind's eye and memories come to the rescue
Forever the indigo will be a stronger hue
Contrasted with a sky so blue
Overpowering flowers and the ground true
The whites, pinks and peeping yellows
Only heighten the purple-blue fellows

NDMC/CPWD always does a wonderful job of maintaining such spaces. Good Morning, everyone. Good Morning. How's the Monday treating you so far?? Today's morning walk, found these beauties. Good Morning to all

A wide variety does Deepak bring
The hues do quite loudly sing
We gladly with you do share
Our love and joy for the season so fair

Leaves of different varieties...; Am told these are from Indonesia

Pinks have found a new fan
Almost all of Vishnu's pix do the color span
From shaded leaves to adenium blossoms
Pinks make for impressive columns

More new flowers from the same group that is the first in the neighborhood. #dailyflowers. The other photos are cherry blossom trees that will bloom soon. These are the beginning of soon to be flowers

Winter is slowly giving way to spring
And that in Shashi's part of the world does bring
Trees laden with blooms set to unfurl
Blossoms on Cherry trees yet to uncurl
Delight passers and all around
With colors vibrant,  beauty profound
