Bunches of deep glorious reds
Stretching up into the sky
Making you and me tilt our heads
This phenomenal beauty to fully espy.
Delicate purple pinks against a verdant green
Fresh, bright and early in the morn
These blessings of nature are gratefully seen
Peppy, life-giving and light like a new day born.
Not yet in full bloom, but proud and free
Its incandescence it does shower
On the garden and nearby trees.

Very like domes atop towers
Like kings their domains they survey
Casting a benign eye on travelers on their way.
A constant in our gardens galore
Spreading its sway more and more.

A deep violet against the green
What mysteries reside therein unseen
Zestful flowers out on display
Our eyes and mind with them do play.

Rising as it were from a purple cloud
Of flowers that form the base
While some lovely cacti one side her canvas encase.
