Ajuba & Other Sunday Gems

 #DailyFlowers

Nature has wonders galore and mysteries that make you wonder more; even as trees change color, here's a flower that does. This pix is courtesy Anjali

The Rose of Sharon or Ajuba
At daybreak it is a brilliant white
As if somehow it would rival the day's light
Come noon, it turns a baby pink
But, wait watch, do not blink
Come evening, the color runs deeper
This one is a true keeper!

Navrattri has begun, 9 days of celebration, felicitation, worship of the Goddess Durga, Ma Shakti... culminating in Dusshera - the victory of good over evil - and of course the flowers that are offered to and adorn her.

This was begun by Shalini, who brought the much loved /demanded yellow orb into play, but then she also took recourse to the poem below from ML Chaturvedi

I am no poet to take him on, but I can try to wax poetic on the flower

Golden yellow orbs that do so delight'
Offered to felicitate the Goddesses' might
Many a garland they have made
On many occasions they have their parts dutifully played

From Vishnu

Lovely bloom on Sunday...
Love and care of my landlord sees results

Love and care always their results show
with flowers and plants this sees them bloom and grow
Adding their vibrancy to gardens, lawns and homes
Inviting lil folks, fairies and gnomes

From Vivek, another flower that is ubiquitous and presides in puja thalis

For nine days these will be in great demand to adorn the pooja thalis
Good morning #DailyFlowers

From common flower to the desired one
The Hibiscus sure has come a long way
After all the puja and worship is done
It will still hold its sway

From Shashi, a small change

#DailyFlowers Ghar ke phool....

घर के फूल हों या बहार के
फूल तोह फूल होतें हैं
चेहरों पे खुशियां लाने वाले
रंग और खुशबू लहराने वाले
फूल तोह दुनिया सदाबहार करते हैं

It is time for the Shilpa mela to begin back home in Allahabad, these two were captured by my cousin as she was passing by

No, the pink is not Kachnaar, the yellow as yet is unknown

The blending of two flowering trees
Flowing into one another as flowers sway in the breeze
Brilliant pinks and  cheerful yellows atop a verdant green
Live, colorful, dancing, truly the queens!
