#DailyFlowers
This week has been messy, work-wise; to be honest it has yo-yo-ed from days being absolutely hectic to absolutely free. Today was the hectic one, but work is now done and weekend is nigh.
I will begin with Shashi not because he's normally the first who posts because my response to his pix today was tongue in cheek and I think we all deserve some light hearted quips.
So, Shashi pulled out another memory, he came back to India, #DailyFlowers photo taken in Port Blair, Andaman Islands, India. If you have seen gov't buildings you would also be familiar with well maintained gardens, lawns, trimmed shrubs and trees..
Strangely shaped shrubs
And orderly flowering plants
Very typical of PWD serviced hubs
And admin powered grants
And yesterday, Shashi remained closer home: Greetings December #DailyFlowers community. Photo from #Georgetown #WashingtonDC
That pink bicycle is artistically parked
Next to a colorful bed of flowers
Am sure many ideas must have been sparked
Aided and abetted by vivid powers
Vivek had shared a rose and then today off he went into memories to pull out flowers in sandy climes
A rose by whatever name is still a rose
But watch the lady's dainty pose
Flowers in sandy climes
Teased out by gardeners many times
Colors complementing
The brilliant reds supplementing
Yellows, mauve's, greens at play
Along with the visitor a powerful display
Shalini has forestalled my combination attempt by recalling a nursery rhyme
"Mary, Mary quite contrary
how does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockleshells
and pretty maids all in a row..."
Of course, this garden has real flowers, all in a row :)
Well, how does your garden grow?
With oranges and yellows all in row
No bells, no cockleshells
But a gay story this garden tells
Ordered yet playful
Calling the grateful
And then, Shalini went near Down Under: The lily of the Nile comes all the way from Auckland, New Zealand, courtesy Sucheta, my friend. This grows in regions with warm winters and has the formal name Agapanthus. I just loved the color!
One lavender complemented by another
Coming from 2 different stables but blending well together
This blogger always does like to bring
Disparate hues into one melodious string
And if it is hues that we speak about
When you see these I have no doubt
You will stop in your tracks
Wonder if they are mushrooms or tasty snacks
My Co-Contributors
Shashi, Vivek, Shalini, Shalini & Nilima, and Preeti
