Dahlia, Alamanda, Roses and More

No sooner that you feel Covid is easing off, a new variant pops up and world goes topsy-turvy again! Methinks the virus is having the laugh on us, even as it so brutally lays bare the inequality round the world. Yea, yea, that whole song and dance of the world keeps changing, but is it changing for the better is yet to be decided! And daily life too hits bumps, potholes, speed breakers, all designed to throw you off your stride, especially as age catches up.  But onto happier news, Vivek & Asmita are grandparents! Congratulations! Grandpa & Gramma! And grandpa continues to delight us with flowers from his trip

And now for some flowers from Amsterdam:

After a long search
high and low,
These carved flowers finally eased
The knitted brow
Had nothing to fear
As his camera brought far-off flowers near
Vivid floral beauties these
Glamorous colors dancing on the breeze

The combined beauty of Alamanda & Dahlia
Likely has us singing many arias
Rich pinks, reds, purples, whites divine
The others can just get in line

Thanksgiving came and went
Many thanks all around were sent
Flowers from us deserve so much more
They always up the score

Traveler Tales from Yore & Now!

 #DailyFlowers

Covid is easing off in most countries of the world, so the home-bound lot has got their traveling hats on and is moving. This week at least 3 contributors are away from home bases. But the flowers mandate remains strong so they scout for flowers along the way. Before I begin the major vibrant pool, Shalini has gone once again to the multi-layered, multi-hued desert state and from there she says:

 I searched high and low
In the great fort of yore
Flowers I couldn't find
These stone flowers were the only memories left behind
By warriors who did not have a mind
For gardening and planting
Flowers or vines...
(Begging kind permission
Of admin for inclusion) #DailyFlowers

Well, who's the blogger to say nay
When the contributor does so beautifully her part say
And then there's Shashi, to the grocers he did with permission go
And brought back sights that add to the show

My ever-sporting cousin's been having a hard time
I forget to showcase her goodies, don't make her rimes
Marvel at nature's trick of play & light
How one hibiscus is dark, the other so bright
Would you believe they blossom on one shrub
It is not as if they've come from different hubs
Seasons change, yet colors remain true
Bringing forth resplendent hues

Our famed pix-taker, Vivek is on a Europe trip
A lil one will soon grandma/grandpa's fingers grip
From Amsterdam & Antwerp he has sent
Glorious blooms as vibrant presents
Roses & mums from Tulip land
Cycles turned into flowery stands

Another, sometime contributor off on holiday did go
This red cactus only in the hills does grow
Colors richer, blooms tightly bunched
Within itself all of nature it has crunched
And then there are dew-adorned petals
Little pearls that do comfortably settle
Blessings that tinge the tips and whole
Dewdrops on a morning stroll

Seasons change and fall comes around
Roses, chrysanthemums begin to abound
Darker, brighter solid hues come into play
All together a powerful display

Another traveler left for Ranchi from T3
It is fitting that the shared shot was like a tree
Brilliant pinks, yellows, purples in did join
A symmetrical vision they did coin

When all other colors have had their say
Deep pinks solemnly come out to play
Fringed by white, tinted with light pinks
These beauties deeply in minds do sink

In Comes Fall with Colors Glorious All

 #DailyFlowers

Tick-tock, goes the clock, counting its merry circle round seconds, minutes, hours and days as they pass on. Months blend into one another, Fall/Autumn's round the corner. As the western/cooler climes say goodbye to flowers, our side blooms on. Somewhere in this whole thing, Diwali, aka, the Festival of Lights came in, registered its presence and moved on. Many a home & family would have been muted this year, too many losses to count, a silent mourning seen. But, flowers, they are still around!

Roses saying goodbye at one end
At the other, they are just coming in
Nature's balancing act quite clearly seen
In the world's flowering scenes
Pinks and reds had quite the gleam
Along with not-Roses formed a team
Majestic blooms in regal poses
Made for some real heady doses

In the festival of lights
Diyas & rangolis were shining bright
Offering obeisance to the Goddess
That she may with abundance & prosperity us bless

Knocked another festival on our doors
Chhath Pooja faithful know the scores
Udayji went to one near his place
Flowers floating in urns graced the place

Flowers in pots, bushes and trees
In wall hangings merrily shooting the breeze
Colors vivid, bright and light
Numerous blooms to excite and delight

Mimosa is mostly a drink's name
But these blooms upped the game
Along with bougainvillea divine
They seemed to be dancing in line

Flowers are still holding strong
Though Fall tries to rush them along
But they still have stories to tell
So they are hanging in their quite well
After two years, Shashi to a conference went
All attendees were of a similar mental bent
Masks still ruled the way
Only for food & drink were they put away

Deepak brought forth quite a selection
This week's share upped his collection
Pinks, reds, whites gambol and play
With their beauty light up our day

Vivek is on an Amsterdam trip
Obviously, local blooms have into the blog slipped
Autumn has made its presence felt
But these hues refuse to fly away & melt
Welcome times with family are here
His pix make for endearing souvenirs

Buds and Blooms

#DailyFlowers

Well, well, well! It is time to tell the tale, of buds that went blooming or is it blooming buds! We will find out as we go on! But it is time to script the tale, or is it tail? You decide...

Well, there were buds blooming
Full hibiscus and roses looming
The buds scripted their own tale
A glorious one without fail
From not quite ready, to a little unfurling
From tightly packed to uncurling
From fully flowered to on the way out
These lovely colors deserve the shout-out

Thence came the canal cleansers
Shalini said Canna, Gladioli was Vivek's counter
Human-made nature's screeners
They made for a beautiful encounter
Against the water flowing
Flowers were glowing
And then there were the walks
Garnering pix that became center of talks

And more glorious colors
That on the morn and evening did hover
Brilliant hues across brilliant blooms
Showcasing their myriad plumes
From nurseries to gardens, to growing wild
Flowers blossom like a happy child

Crocuses from across the seas
Dried flowers shooting fragrances on the breeze
Asmita's gems still do astound
As Vivek features them one more time around

Another bloom met the sun
While it was on its daily run
Pinks, violet, whites did in join
Amazing juxtapositions did they coin

Nature has decided she must blaze
In all random hues, her shades must amaze
Yellows, pinks, reds, earth and sky do meld
On her palette wondrously held

The Rise of the Rose
Oh, so beauteously did they pose
Rain-brushed roses and blooms so strong
Mightily the wind tried, couldn't take them along
They were determined to sing their full song

Pumpkins, geese, mums, leaves and more
These Shashi collected by the score
Who'd think that fall is nigh
Glazes glorious hold spirits high

The more we learn, the more we yearn
Flowers names to clearly discern
Some are cute, some are short
Some clearly make us snort
Women's tongue tree
Set me on a giggling spree
Codiaeum variegatum
Made me go umm hmm-mm!
