 The blog is pleased to have an older member returning to it after quite some time and safe and sound. On the other hand, Vivek has taken his car and his better half and gone traveling around. Some scenes and sights from the trip will be featured here, of course they will have flowers, because they have awesome powers! 

In the US, Shashi met the first blooms of spring
Along with their sprightliness they hope did bring
Gorgeous yellow-orange blooms
Cut directly through the long Covid imposed gloom

Sai returns with: even the flowers smile and shine brighter with a bit of rain.

 Rain washes are gentle and kind
They remove all the dust and allow flowers to shine
Flowers rain washed together do bind
Hearts, minds, eyes all fall in line

 

And Satbir asked: Bottle Brush. Who makes it better: Mother Nature or Us?

Man created bottle brush or Nature's glorious creation
Up to you to decide which deserves true appreciation
Plastic filaments twisted radically on a wire spine
Sleek reds tipped with yellow on a delicate stem twine
One twists and turns, in bottles to scrub and clean
The other sprightly & shy in the wind does sway and is a queen

Meanwhile, an orchid bloomed in Medha's house in Mumbai. I requested permission to share the beauty with #DailyFlowers which she happily gave :).  It's raining in Delhi and mild thunder is rolling across the skies. This dahlia was clicked some days ago and will keep reminding us about sunny spring days.

One simple but rare the other so la-di-la-h
But did you see the rich hues they share
Pinks and purples offer all other colors a dare

So, Vivek's gone on a motoring trip
From there, sights and sounds he does to us ship
Sunrises, sunsets, temples, monuments and more
All these he does leisurely explore
The descriptive order does therefore change
His comments will drive the visual range

Lift the mood, make us mellow
Each flower filled with grace
Their loveliness brightening up the place

 A long-missing friend is back
He has got quite a photo stack
The interplay of light and green
Was never so brightly seen
Too hot it is to step out he says
Therefore recourse is taken to older plays

Another friend in Malaysia is stuck
Covid played havoc with his returning home luck
But flowers do spirits raise
Allow us to beauty and grace praise

Closer to home Rachna does bring
Blues and purples that loudly sing
Look at us, vivid, cheery and loud
We break through the colorful crowd

Another bush you will probably see in your travels...the lantana plant is an invasive species in India I'm told but the flowers are pleasant enough to overlook that aspect, I guess. Did you know its leaves are poisonous to most animals? #aajkagyaan

The daily gyaan has been dispensed
A tale that could a para fill has into 2 lines been condensed
Yet the blooms she speaks of are seen everywhere
Most usually just pass by, don't really about it care

 Today's #DailyFlowers come from a 2017 visit to #Austin #Texas; Hope it brings to cheer to your morning Smiling face

The post is long, but there is still one song
That has to be presented and sung along
India and Texas easily mingle
Deep pink  and orange hues blend into a rich jingle

Celebrations in Colors Glorious

We are moving further quite well; vaccinations are also progressing, though the weather can't quite make up its mind. Days are heating up and how, but the nights still have a nip in them... 

Happy Sunday! White seems to be the flavor of the day, so white it is....! I'm told these white begonia are a rarity! Rare begonias and coffee. My Sunday special. Tea on weekdays

White they said had won right of way
From rare begonias to periwinkles to parijat bright
White lit up the blog alright

Shashi's white was a little late to the game
It did not therefore get bunched with the same
However, beauty it did bring
Along with yellows and whites of majesty it did sing

On Sunday, Shashi brought to the fore
Light greens and reds leaving us asking for more
A contrast to the truck by the kerb
It did make for a joyful blurb

In honor of courage, beauty has knelt
Dark greens and pinks add a lighter note
Valor and grace always carry the vote

Not flowers, fish. But don't they look like floating flowers?

Well, these are not flowers
But these fishes have some amazing powers
Shalini did them here feature
They are gorgeous creatures

A profusion of violets, mauve and purples
So what if they are not forming perfect circles
In full bloom they did sing and sway
Made a poet of Shalini on that day

The colours are so vibrant and pleasing! Wishing everyone a great weekend...! More flowers from my friend Manju's garden: Flowers of different colors,  size and symmetry,  when it shashays and catches eye  tends to calm any troubled mind /body. The stone crop is flowering too...would make for a good pattern for Asmita to embroider next

An absolute profusion of oranges, reds and pinks
Friends from across the country did bring
Try as I might to write lines celebrating each
Their incandescent beauty to define is beyond my reach

Merry March Marching

Ah, well! March is truly in and some bright spots have come up too. Around the world vaccines for Covid have been rolled out for the common citizen. Yes, there have been glitches but vaccinations are moving forward. People are signing up, getting appointments (or not) and queues as usual are long and chaotic. Amidst all this, newer hues have come to the fore as have darling lilies!

So, Shalini brought a lily in again and with Vivek coined a nice mukhda... methinks when such lines are already present, i should not write for them..

Mere ghar aayi...

Mere ghar aayi kuchh peeli lily
Toyota ke haseen rath pe sawaar...
Two more lines needed to complete the “mukhda”
Mere ghar aayi kuchh peeli lily
Maruti ke haseen rath pe sawaar...
Unki saason se mehke mere ghar ke dwaar
Lekin kuchh hi dinon ki hai ye bahaar...

But lilies are universal flowers, 

'Tis the season of the charming lily
Spring brings forth colors vital and not so silly
Oranges, yellows, and gleaming whites
Bloom in gardens and light up rooms bright

Daughter Arti shared these white brooms from her in laws’ garden in the south of France. Good morning

And then there were brooms
It was questioned if he meant blooms
Loaded beautiful white danglers
Sweeping blessings on wandering stragglers

 One day we would be able to share the fragrance of this “mogra” over the Internet. The spicy aroma of the bay leaf plant too... Till then imagination reigns.

There were yet more nursery visits
These blooms with their beauty did pix solicit
The pix taker obliged
He had nothing to hide
Thence came the sweet smelling mogra
In full bloom it presents quite an opera

Adorning the backyard, the bay leaf plant's tiny  flowers
Much like little shining stars their brilliance they shower
With their fragrance the garden is graced
Into memory, key notes placed

There was once a song about the pretty lemon tree
A song that sang of love and young hearts free
This tree filled with flowers sweet
Filling the air with a fragrance my cousin to greet

This picture is from 2018 at a restaurant called Flower Child. Great food and service but did not survive the pandemic at the location near my house

Flowers painted on walls
Flowers seen wherever the eyes do fall
He says they are soaps, they look like candies to me
Handmade indulgences for all to see

Purple and purple pinks
Spring does love to them ink
On flowers common and more
Meet the lovely hues that nature has in store

Some more purple-pinks and pinks deep abound
Shared by friends who across the country have found
These blooming in their gardens and lawns
Beauties with which nature garnishes many dawns

Cascades of yellow pale and bright
They make for an amazing sight
Season's changes bring beauties out
Laden with blooms these form lovely spouts

No tale is complete without pink-reds
These Azaleas do the garden head

They bring joy to hearts weary

February's Done, March Marches In

 Ah, well, February is gone and Mister March has marched in. Spring is still holding strong, although days are heating up. The festival of colors, Holi, is round the corner, but for the moment it's flowers that are playing with colors vibrant.

Orange-Yellows are glowing along
Their radiance is holding strong
A spectacular contrast to the greens they offer
Many stories I am sure they can proffer

And thence wandered the sharer into a field of flowers
Which roundly blessed her wit their powers
A smile so sublime did her face grace
Surrounded by blooms she didn't look out of place
Wedding parties always have space
Bouquets, wreaths they beauty embrace
Flowers bring forth a shower of blessings
Adding magic to the settings

Someone went visiting the nursery
Flowers there got glances not so cursory
Some were selected to adorn this blog
One must admire the photographer's log

Half in shadow, half in light
A lotus and colors green and white
Shared by Shashi from memories dear
Their beauty resounds loud and clear

Then flowers he from a Warsaw garden brought
Along with the blooms, the day's beauty he sought
To present us with a vision bright
Framed by flower beds he looks just so right

Did I say colors verdant, colors bright
Deep pinks and reds that set blooms alight
One from our framer brilliant
The other a leading conservationist resilient
