Spring is in the Air

#DailyFlowers

'Tis time for a new post
As blogger.com plays the merry host
Full many a beauty has been shared
Let's see how they have fared
In February the blogger went on a trip
The nasty cold season she did skip
Hit Delhi in early spring
From there many flowers she did bring

Flowers and blooms many
In varieties and colors zany
Far as the eyes could see
Spring had set the city on a blooming spree
Tulips did have center stage
With their stories one could fill many a page

Spring doth rejoice in its yellows
Truly they are merry fellows
In Delhi carpets of them were seen
Brightening each and every scene

The thirst for blooms did awaken
Thence to the Rose garden I was taken
Glories and stories were there found
Pinks, peaches, orange-lemon hues did abound

To Switzerland did my cousin go
Sent these beauties to show & glow
Spring is in the air everywhere
With shining hues truly fair

Further tales are yet to be knit
More images designed to fit
Frames that tell their sweet tales
Ringing across cities, valleys & dales
But the blogger is hard-pressed for time
Still free doesn't flow the rhyme sublime
The many shared images do add cheer
Here, there and everywhere
The blogger does request some more time
To let the lines spontaneously chime

A Long Time Coming...

It's been a long time since I came to this page and put fingers to the keyboard. But to be honest the drive to do so has not been present. Hopefully, today marks a fresh start and I will be able to post more regularly. I may not be able to cover all the pix that were shared since the last post, but will try to make up for some. And yes, on my journeys I spent time in Delhi where spring was making its presence felt with Tulips & roses, especially. Will feature these in due course. For the now

It's time to write
Yet words sound trite
There's a deep emptiness inside
And no place for it to hide
Flowers beautiful, colorful & serene
They should be making for wonderful scenes
Yet the lines do not flow
The blog cannot put up its regular show
Blooms there are so many
Hues vivid and zany
From across the world do pictures come
Of winter blooms, then spring and some
Of Tulips, petunias, daffodils, daisies and more
Too many flowers to even keep up the score

Colors so vivid that they do shine
On blooms calm, peaceful and so benign
Roses have a special place
Each sighting is blessed with unique grace
Full well the sharers have done their bit
Is for the blogger to make descriptions lit
Me thinks the lines are too tame
It's gonna take some time to up the game

As myriad colors share their beauty
This blogger strives to do her duty
To let the colors have their way
So that blooming melodies may again sing & sway
Come forth to brighten days & ways
Do justice to Nature's displays

Not Flowers but a collective's expression
With paint on canvas, multitude impressions
A city-scape, workers, guards and more
Swirls, whorls & geometric shapes  offset the score
Colors beautifully mingled
From one canvas to another, tales do jingle

Life goes on

 #DailyFlowers

As I sit beside the window contemplating life, time seems to stand still for an infinitesimal moment, as if something compels it to do so and yet I know time never stands still. It is eternal, ever-moving, ever changing. And I know I must write, not just for the many blooms that await their day of glory, but also for myself lest I get caught in the sands of sorrow & loss. The frames have been readied, but whither the lines, whither the rhymes...

A look at the frames did a tweet forth bring
That of yellows one day this blog must sing
For Amit, Suby, Ranjona, and many more
For yellows should be writ a merry score
Well, let's to yellows wave a cheery hail
That they
always will knit interesting tales
That in the vast spreading of its hues
It will encompass all, many & a few

If yellows have their songs can pinks fall out of line
They are a color that always does shine
On buds, blooms & even leaves
In bunches, bouquets on stems, in sheaves

'Tis also the time for Roses in India to glow
Year after year they put on a stunning show
In shades surprisingly strong
Blushing or beaming they can never go wrong

Wondrous blooms did two contributors share
They further elevated the post's fare
Nature's palette lovingly arrayed
Her specialties astonishingly displayed

The common and uncommon are so filled with power
Their beauty does their plants empower
Maroon blended with orange and yellow
And pristine white enriching the flow

Blooms, glorious blooms as far as the eye can see
A multitude of colors, vibrant, bright and free
Collected and shared with so much love
Lifting hearts & minds, covering with a healing glove

Preening Flowers

#DailyFlowers

I thought long and hard whether I should write this post, whether I would be able to write this post. Till now words did me fail, rhymes, verses lines did for some unknown region set sail. The pain of the parting was just too hard. Time they say is the greatest healer, time alone will soothe pain. It is true what they say, but life cannot be simply wasted away
Life's a strange sort
Sometimes it turns you into a worrywart
At others it bustles merrily by
You can literally see time fly
Still at others a full stop it does ring
To your knees with sorrow bring
Then having served you your due
It rings in days anew
It gives you not too much time to grieve
Experiences it filters through a fine sieve
Amidst all this turmoil nature stands fast
Its ephemeral glories bloom and go past
This blog post is now much overdue
Cobwebs in the brain now must go shoo

The pretties brought forth a sigh
Such beauty and rich colors all so nigh
Flowers in full plumage do preen
Soothing and so cheery the scenes
A balm to aching hearts
New chapters they encourage to start
Their lives they merrily live
To us so freely give

Mums & Mums at the flower show
Grace, poise, cheer they did show
Colors so beautifully displayed
Human & blooms lovingly arrayed
Blue-purples & purpley-pinks
Each image lovingly inks
Its presence upon our minds and soul
Every time leaving us totally whole

'Tis the season of brilliant hues
That fill lawns, gardens & mews
While the weather does turn  cold
Flowers put forth a show to behold
So, we should tarry here a while
Enjoy the colors parading in style

 A baby pink blushing rose
A delicate yellow magnolia did pose
Deep red two roses did flush
Kachnar and white stars did gush
A collage from Suby did in swing
The entire frame reminiscent of spring

Life & Celebrations!

 #DailyFlowers

Here's a shout-out to the awesome folks that make up the #DailyFlowers group. Uncomplainingly, they have continued to share pix of flowers, notwithstanding that the blogger seems to be lost in the desert of Parkinson's & dementia care giving. Mom seems to be getting more and more lost and  befuddled as days go by. And now, my answers don't seem to suffice. It's as if both of us are standing at a precipice, poised but no more movement. And I wonder what compels nature to move ahead with its blooms, seasons, flowers. Although I  strive to keep mention of these issues out of this blog, sometimes they just rush in, like fools do into spaces where angels fear to tread

Rhymes and lines have gone into hiding
As the blogger is busy doing mom's biding
Mom, who routinely asks who am I/
are you
Her memories now hold a precious few
Now what to do is her constant refrain
Wish I could cast out that pain
But down for a morning stroll she must go
And watch the flowers put on a show
The varied colors and blooms put a smile on her face
Even as life seems to pass by at its frenetic pace

The purity of white always delights
Wonder what secrets lie in its light
What stories and glories it could share
As it spreads itself on the day fair
Hearkens at once to the purity of the soul
Subsumes all colors, makes them whole

'Tis the season to be jolly
To deck the halls with mistletoe & holly
To make snowmen and sing carols out loud
Spread cheer, joy and peace all around
Poinsettias mark the onset of winter
Begin the season as the sprinter
Form part of the decorations green & red
Signal Jolly Ole Santa's just ahead

Winter is the season of weddings
With many creating new settings
Whist the rest shower blessings
Flowers, as usual play a central role
They the entire decor control
Sometimes in curtains down the side
At others, scattered in vases along for the ride
They also form the bridal canopy
Add to visions played out in fantasy
The garland for vow taking with them is made
With them best wishes for the couple are prayed

Tales of journeys, of wandering
Of coming and going & some serious pondering
Of flower festivals and birthday presents
Make for times truly pleasant
Lighting up the blog with their beauty
The flower sharers have done their duty
That we do hereby celebrate
And allow the melody therein to reverberate!

Yep, some images are left over, will try to feature them soon!

A Flowery Refrain

 #DailyFlowers

The brain has set up a nagging refrain: put your fingers to keyboard and write the blog post it says! The heart, on the other hand, is massively distracted, worried and refuses to settle down to allow verses to emerge. But, here I am with some free time and fingers dancing on the keyboard. Living with an elderly parent who suffers from Parkinson's and its dementia involves the art of jugglery; at times, you win, others the PD&D does. Mom has taken to going into her yester years more frequently than ever before, sometimes being fixed therein totally. Sometimes, the TV's distraction helps, at times some pictures do. And I wonder at life, at once stagnant & moving, then irritable & calming. And in and around I see flowers, of all kinds, in full blooming glory.

Wonder what lessons these flowers do offer
What gems of wisdom do they proffer
Whether these into our minds and souls do get
Or whether they are transient and so easy to forget
Day after day, nature puts forth colors bright
For us to see, imbibe and in them delight
'Tis the season of lilies and mums
To whose music does their soul strum
To what beats do they march
Left and right in perfect cadence do they spark

The lamppost and flowers are the crown
But this visit in some sorrow is bound
Life begins and it ends
Along the way, the journey it tends
Passage of time is marked by years
Departures marked by tears
To the everlasting One a prayer we raise
Grant the soul peace, shelter and your grace
For those left behind, we seek
Healing, love, connections that speak
Of bonds strong and true
That no sorrow shall rent asunder or hew
Flowers grant amazing grace
Time and again, this place and that place
Through life's cycle do they thrum
A varied bouquet silently drums

Then there was the ignition of the spark
The onset of winter it did seem to mark
Blues & Violets showcased their power
Tales with fervor and imagination empower
What all they must have seen
Majestically they did preen
Bring forth beauty untrammeled
Hues of reds, yellows and pinks did channel
More stories to the panels

Oranges and yellows refused to be left behind
They, you know are of different kinds
Vivid bursts of color do they embody
Their blooming is brilliant and never shoddy
Amidst the reds & pinks, they do chant
Refrains, songs, melodies never do want

Gimme Red, the contributors did say
Many rushed to fill the day
Red in its many hues did merrily swing
Along with the season, joy it did bring
Whites did also this time dominate
As if some did them nominate
Blooms from near, blooms from far
Did join buds, together star
Other glories too did their part
Sometimes to end, others to start
Posts on its own the blog doesn't create
The blogger is sometimes on time, sometimes late!
