#DailyFlowers
On a glorious September morn
93 years ago was my beautiful mother born
The eldest child, today the much loved oldest elder
Her smile lights up her eyes and face and her laugh makes us all surrender
Happy birthday, Ma!
September 29, 2020
Shalini sent some beautiful flowers in for ma from Lodhi Garden and Mom's eyes caught the ones shared by Shashi. She merrily ascribed both shares to herself and hence my response is for both of them
I showed these flowers to my Mom
Brought a smile to her face
She asked me are these for me
I said, yes mom, they complement your grace!
Sai called them weeds, they are not
Good morning
Small they may be
But beautiful aren't they
For even weeds
Can be magical
Only if you choose
To go looking
For small they may be
They still exist
pretty and nice,
But why should that
be a surprise,
God's creations have both sides,
Sweet and spice
Weeds! Are they really Weeds or nature sending a message to us
Hey, don't mock the weeds
The power in those thin reeds
Is wild, uncontrolled, un-imagined and free
Out there, they light up with their vibrant colors many a bush and tree
Vivek brought in more weeds, but it is his commentary that is telling
Weeds on land or in water,
cannot be neglected.
But sometimes the 'weed' you buy
gets you in trouble.
In India if you smoke weed naked
you are a "Sadhu" but..
If you smoke in full attire
You are a criminal. Weird.
Like I said, weeds are powerful, they are strong
They are also capable of stringing you along
Up to you to choose which you want, the flowers or the plant
But remember polity will always put its own slant
This is again a one-in-two-day post, yesterday was dedicated to Ma and we made of it the most. So back to today and what have we, friends going on a flower hunting spree
Starting with Shalini
Wednesday arrives with these beautiful lilies,
a happy gift they make,
hope #DailyFlowers woke you up softly,
And now you're wide awake.
Lilies are beautiful, these are Pink
Against the wall, a lovely contrast
Lilies brighten the day, they make you think
Small they are, but stand true and fast!
With lots of thanks to Mala, she's pulled her doc in... a beautiful white from the doc’s garden - told her it’s for our daily flowers thread & she was happy to forward it to me.
Roses always brighten the day
They send the gloom spinning away
No other flower has so much power
By its very presence it does so so much shower
Shashi sent a hard worker in: When you see the bees on the flowers, you know at least the ecosystem is at work. The county I live in doesn't permit pesticides so that bees can do their job of pollination.
Bees, the work horses of nature
More imperative than all other creatures
Without them, we would food not know
With their mighty hearts they sustain the pollination flow
This beautiful flowering tree caught my eye
Blooming bunches up, up there so high
Splotches of white-green like artfully arranged tiles
I hope you have a wonderful day
Here I am in the day's sun
Come to spread some cheer, lightness and fun
My Co-contributors:
Shalini, Shashi, Sai, Vivek, Mala and Anjali
Beautifully expressed!
