Small Glories, Deep Stories

 #DailyFlowers

Tales that flowers tell; stories that pix weave; into all of this jumps the blogger to add words that would rhyme indeed. Life goes on, went the well known song, flowers have been epitomizing it all along. It was us that were deaf and blind, Covid showed us how to be kind. Self centered we did become to protect us and ours, but in need we did step up to care for more than powers... Another spaces was held and done, more songs from newer members sung, tales came from hither and thither, cares and worries did together whither... concerns raised, concerns valid, whether humanity will remain solid! Parents, siblings, children, gone, gone too soon, gone without just cause! Will humanity unite and join to heal, will voices rise and peal...

Glory oh Glory
The purples tell a deep story
Mayhaps the flowers bloom
Forming a variegated blushing plume
Coming from here and there
To tell us of Nature's love and care
Encourage us her glories to share

Shashi, he of the back to office fame
Has now begun another game
He visited another county
To harvest its generous bounty
Lovely colors in full play
Putting up a rambunctious display

Name of the orange beauties is not known
But they are proudly shared and shown
Blooms mysterious, but so delightful
Charge our lives make them less frightful

In different shades comes the Madhumalti dear
What pleasure it gives when it blooms near
Its presence and fragrance do to the occasion rise
The many colors just increase the vividness of surprise

A dear friend in Malaysia is stuck
Clicks flowers to activate his luck
Mayhaps he will then be able to come home
Where we all will then be free to roam
Covid won't have us housebound
And friends and loved ones can gather around

I sit by the window thinking out loud
Of words that best suit the flowery crowd
Cheerful, and soft, a colors cloud
Colors to cheer by, a medley that shouts
Look at me! I am small but bright
Look at me shining in the light!

From colors bright to colors soft
But all driving our spirits aloft
Nature is sometimes perfection sheer
Its shapes and sizes give us much to cheer

From Whites to Red did Shalini swing
Much joy to us did the blooms bring
Showed us nature's majesty grand
Its humblest forms do take a mighty stand

 A yellow spread
Always marches ahead
The brilliance of the sun
With its many hues is having fun

The common and uncommon do well blend
In their beauty ours hearts do mend
Single flowers with immense power
Grace on us bountifully shower

June sent in blooms glorious
In little seen hues wondrous
Gold, oranges, pinks, lavender-whites joust
Glories and stories of spring espouse

Little white glories filling the tree
They are on a mad blossoming spree
Like so many twinkling stars
They can be espied from afar

Violet Delights & Pinks Bright

 #DailyFlowers

This week I had to present at work in the weekly team call and given my work colleagues and the time of the day, the topic had to be lighter and encourage some lighthearted play. Well, lighthearted it was not, but play it did, for I talked about Re-energizing ourselves in these tough times. Among the things I take recourse to for the same is this blog as it re-energizes me to no end. But there I talked about music, meditation, activities and exercise. I did a small 6-slider show, attendees said the presentation did well flow. But yearn I did for the colors on the blog, the blessing of flowers, that their presence showers

The purple family of flowers is back
It tells us we missed taking up the slack
In full riotous spread it does range
In blossoms recognized and strange

From Canadian shores
Does sister send blooms more
Whites and deep pinks pose so well
From India, Bougainvilleas add to the spell

Casting about for flowers
Vivek chanced upon Tulips' powers
First it was Bea with a colorful spread
Then Arti's flowers that stood him in good stead

Shashi's been having a grand gala time
Blooms of intense color are beginning to chime
Back to work he's gone, with more areas to roam
There are plentiful pix for him to bring home

Last Sunday was Mother's Day
The women who bind families in their own way
Many a flower & greeting were shared
Colorful beauty did well fare

The Queen of the night did rule the roost
Shalini's garden it gave a massive boost
The delicate flowers their glories spread
The intense perfume fills our heads

 Pinks never really go away
The color has many hues which come to play
From the shy peach, to the speckled pink white
Deep pinks to the madhumalti bright

Pinks and pink reds go hand in hand
Together they make a powerful stand
From Deepak to Vivek to Vee
Amazing pink reds and reds came to us see

Flowers Sing in Dells, Vales, Hills and Plains

 #DailyFlowers

'Tis time for another post, but the blogger is feeling tired and lost and rhymes have run away... they don't seem to be shining today. Then there were the flowers, flowers in the vales, flowers in the dell, flowers in the hills, flowers in the plains

The blogger this Sunday met #Doolally's stout
Pleased, revived rhymes she did spout
The flowers she said were calling
It was time to quit stalling

Deepak kind of expressed everyone's sentiments when he said the days seem to be the same... of course he added some good news that he had tested negative for Covid, so that was indeed a blessing... but then days...

 Everyday seems the same
Time's playing the standstill game
The calendar says it's Friday
Upcoming weekend says have a good day
Today is this day
Yesterday was that day
Day before had another way
Weeks standstill n do not sway
But flowers are rulers of all they survey
Their blessings and might do they display
Day after day they come forth
Proving their true worth

Vivek tried to answer Deepak's query
But he too was a lil weary
Life's like a record
But the player's needle is stuck
Will take major determination & pluck
To deliver succor and rights accord
But we must place on record
Fresher blooms do strike a chord
@HippyMallu restarted the game
We need to identify the flower's name

But then the cousin sent in some blooms
Small but with mighty plumes
Lovely flowers saying a cheerful hello
For lovelier morns do me follow
I cast my peaches n pinks out on the day
Set sparkles and cheer on their way

Then Gautam with his blooms did in chime
He brought beauty to this time
Sunday mornings are peach n pink
Colors we love deeply to take in
Lilies n periwinkle in full glory
Scripting a beautiful weekend story

June joined in with a weigela  in full bloom
Her back yard is awash with the spring's perfume
Blooms mighty, blooms small
Oh but they are the siren's call

Sai spoke of dumps that were reclaimed
Filled with water and lotuses they gained fame
Tourists spots they did now become
For visitors they tapped a loud drum

Ranjona posted of hope
Life, she gives you a long rope
Up to you what with it you do
To your creator's nature do you hold true
White the color of spirit eternal
Doesn't really care external or internal
Colors join to end in white
It's brilliant sparking, incandescent light

We have a new member on the blog
Let's give them some attention, we mustn't all hog
A gorgeous pink bloom has come in
This beauty has earmarked its win

Among all colors, whites did reclaim their space
You have to admit its hues have everlasting grace
Speckled Wildflowers or periwinkle
Little stars do twinkle
Stars in your firmament
Advancing glories of living in apartments
With great gusto we nature seek
Rejoice when we on creations peek
Shashi the opthal went to meet
On the way back, a honeysuckle did him greet

After whites, can yellows hide
Nay, they are along for the ride
A medley of yellows is on display
Don't they make for  gorgeous array?

Pink-violets and magenta pinks
Wherever you turn the color winks
Mild and light, sprightly and bright
They have a way of putting the world right
Borrowed blooms have come to light
Small they maybe but full of might

After long, Shashi is back at work
We do hope the lock-down no longer lurks
People were meant to be up and about
With friends, co-workers rally and shout
Call out days beautiful and full of praise
That to life, we may again a toast raise

Murmuring & Grooving Flowers

 #DailyFlowers

Things smoothed out then turned topsy-turvy again, leaving the blogger mighty unsettled and falling even further back in posting! Additionally, #Twitter is playing some games because I keep missing notifications. Sigh! But then, it is a hot, humid day, my grey cells are tired so I thought why not take recourse to silly rhymes, maybe they would help restart the grey/thinking cells. This post might be a little jumpy, so i apologize beforehand.

Somewhere between the last post and this one, Shalini decided to nominate a flower for the week; thus did she speak:

The maalis in our local Tatha-Paati park have planted Zinnias (at least Google Lens says they're Zinnias). Counting each color separately, I'm set for the next one week. Well, that was a tease the blogger wasn't gonna let go, hence

Is that so, set for a week?
What if we say that others you should seek?
Would more parks you go
To gather an even more colorful show?

To which she promptly reverted with:

Flowers you said,
Flowers I'm getting.
Now you say
It's my setting.
Want me to gather more?
Tell that to the evil Covid spore

Well, in the interim, a small bit of the blogger's life righted itself,

That evil Covid spore
Canna have any more
Am fed up with it
Think it needs a major flit
But till then news I have for all
Momma's latest report gives an all-clear call
The wordsmith is much relieved
Colors & more flowers have 2b seen 2b believed
June chipped into the Zinnia tale
These flowers have grown in scale
Pinks, yellows, peaches and whites
Are dancing merrily in seasonal delight

Look, it's a Zinnia again,
but so pretty, and not at all vain.
People walking past,
don't give it a glance,
but it still shares its beauty
as though that is its duty...

But if Shalini rhymes, can Vivek be far behind, to yet another Zinnia, he said

Whether or not
At the Zinnia we glance
Wordsmith.2s words
Hold us in a trance
Brought forth the gulmohar to the dance
Older songs he said must be sung
The minds with their melody rung
Never mind the songs, the flowers do well to prance

Shalini then brought in pink hearts
You can tell the flowers have smarts
Strung in a line upon a branch
By the side a pink red offers another tranche

Shashi is having a field day
Vibrant colors are coming his way
His pleasure through the pictures does seep
Into our timelines and bolsters us deep
Whites, red-pinks, yellows set the note
These gorgeous blooms to get our vote
Hues of pink do ring the bell
Flowers, flowers in the dell

  'Tis strange is it not
Two distanced blooms share a hue so hot
Sai and Shashi to the fore
The deep violet-blues do sanity restore

Settings for the Zinnia he blamed
But the lock-down had him tamed
His sister came to the rescue
Amazing blooms took up the cue

 Lovely yellows rule the roost
To sagging morale give an energy boost
Bright as the sun, the timeline they brighten
In these Covid times, our loads they lighten

Dogs and gardens do not gel
To uproot flowers is their tell
This lil fella is the bloom's guard
The flowers have his dedicated regard
Out there in the city's paved yard
Nature presents a violet card

Amidst all the colors bright
The deep greens are a pleasing sight
Whites and yellows do them adorn
With grace and majesty are they worn

Posed against the greens dark
Lavender and whites make their mark
Flowers a lesson in constancy teach
They are always there, ne'er out of reach

The Mirabelle plum
Marches to its own music and drum
Vivek did from Jola share
This amazing tree so fair
