Of Goddesses' Colors, Powers & Grace

 #DailyFlowers

As stated in an earlier post, Durga Pooja and navratri are on, where the Goddess is hailed, worshiped, adored, felicitated. Both culminate on the 10th day, with victory of good over evil. In the 9 days before that, various avatars of the Goddess are worshiped and various colors are ascribed to the days as having special power; today is the day of Royal blue, some places a royal green as it were.

While Shashi and Sai have stuck to pulling in beauty, Shalini and Vivek paid tributes to the festival, it being Saptami (7th day) and Royal Blue/Green. And Vishnu bringing in that one color that in itself encompasses all

We begin as usual with Shashi,  #DailyFlowers just for you all, I stopped during my walk and took this picture

Squiggles of baby and dark pink against the tree's bark
Bunches of flowers blooming and they have made their mark
Shashi stopped especially on his walk to capture
The pretty scene does add to an autumn morning rapture

Vishnu brought in a color of universal appeal, standing for peace and unity.

Beauty, innocence in one white bright
Adding to the glory of the morning light
Rendered by Nature, tendered to the deity divine
It is all part of the universe's secret design

Sai's shots are exquisitely framed, so much so that writing for them takes some serious thought

Juxtaposed against the blue-peach sky
Is a delicate baby pink
For denizens low and high
It relaxes the mind to think, create and link

Shalini introduced the Mother and her color: From my archives - an offering to #DeviKalraatri on Saptami today. Dark blue is her powerful color and this was the closest I could find...

In their own ways, all are powerful colors
Especially when assigned to the Mother of mothers
The Goddess lends her special touch
Come this season, we crave it so much

Vivek followed suit with

Of colors I have no clue
But I hope this is the dark blue
That is Ma Durga's "Saptami" hue.
Good Morning
#DailyFlowers
Two butterflies in there too.

Well, Durga Pooja takes me back to school and early univ days, times of love, laughter, caring and sharing

These remind me of the Indian mulberry
The royal blue tones take me back to days so merry
Of aarti, friendships, and celebrations galore
Experiences, memories that left us asking for more

My cousin shared one that hearkens again to childhood days, the Queens Wreath Creeper

Childhood memories have the power to gladden our hearts
Transport us to those days even though today we be far apart
Flowers with their ever-widening color and size
Do enrich our lives with their strength, beauty and poise

 My Co-Contributors

Shashi, Vishnu, Sai, Shalini, Vivek and Rachna
